If you just want to play Valorant on a normal map and you see Fracture in the loading screen, it can be an awful blow. But other times, it can get in the way of gameplay. Sometimes that can be a fun map to play on, to switch it up once and a while.
This is why Fracture’s worst aspect is the entire map it is just too gimmicky.įracture exists only because it is quirky and different. The entire map layout was a gimmick and people were either excited to try it out or loathed having to endure a match on it. Fracture drew a lot of eyes upon release due to how unorthodox it was. Overall, I like this map a lot and I don’t think the bad aspects of this map take away any joy from playing on it, which is why B Site and a thin defensive line only earn Haven 2/5 Reyna HUH?s. It is easy to rotate early on this map since you want to go help as quickly as possible, but rotating on this map is perilous since it offers a lot of space for lurkers to work with. It doesn’t offer great cover and a team needs to be coordinated to lock down the many paths leading to B Site.Īnother nitpick I have is that since it features 3 sites and feels so large, your defense will be stretched thin at the start of the round.
It is really hard to control and hold post-plant when planting on B Site. B Site is nice to fall back on when your team’s first plan of attack fails, but that’s pretty much it. But, if I had to nitpick, I’d say that B Site isn’t a feasible first option to attack. One of the original Valorant maps and the first map to feature 3 Spike sites, Haven has a lot of fans. Keep this in mind as you traverse the map, and be sure to check all of your corners.Haven is a good map. This map has a lot of sneaky cubby holes that enemies can lay in wait and ambush you from. So if you are in a hurry to start a retake, it is best to try to rotate through Defender spawn, since it is the only efficient connector between the A and the B site. The outside rotations for this map are long. It will take you significantly more time to rotate this way, but it can mask your sound from any defenders who are hanging out in Defender Spawn, where they can hear standard zipline use. Just like with other ziplines in VALORANT, you can move silently on the long ziplines that allow you to rotate between the top and the bottom of the map. This alcove and the boxes in the center of the site are both good places to plant. The site itself for B is a single level and includes the alcove next to it, which is pretty sheltered. The most powerful position on B is B Tower, specifically the door overlooking the site which is referred to as Nest. The B site also has four entries B Main and B Tunnel from the south, and B Link and B Arcade from the north. The most popular spike plant spot during the playtest seemed to be behind the box on the bottom level. The A site itself has a top and a bottom level. Defenders can jump up A Drop from the box next to it, but there is no way for attackers to drop without making a sound. Enemies can enter the site from A Main, A Rope, and A Link from the south and A Drop from the north. The A site, located on the east side of the map, has four entrances to it. So attackers can immediately split push either site at the very start of the round, and defenders can set up their defense on each site before the round starts. Defenders on the other hand spawn in the middle of the map above that zipline and have immediate access to both sites at the start of the round. This map is quite unorthodox and is arguably the map in VALORANT that strays farther from traditional CS:GO map designs.įrom spawn, Attackers on Fracture can access both the south and the north of the map, traversing between the two on ziplines. We made a short and sweet guide for Fracture so you can hit the ground running when it releases! Fracture is the newest map for VALORANT coming to the game with the launch of Episode 2 Chapter 3 next week.
